Everything
is in place for the 2011 Festival. It’s not too late to book your tickets
at the Tourist Information Centre: see our booking page for more details.
Trains, planes and cars are booked to bring the musicians to the town.
Young people are practising their pieces for the masterclasses
and workshops, and the magnificent Steinway grand piano will, as usual,
arrive in a horsebox.
We
look forward to seeing you in a few days time.
Grant
application is successful
We are
enormously grateful to East Riding Council for their generous grant for
the coming year. Without their help the Festival could not continune.
Exciting
line-up of artists for 18th annual Beverley Chamber Music
Festival
We have an
exciting line-up of internationally renowned musicians for this year’s
Festival including virtuoso pianists Martin Roscoe and Jin Ju, BBC Young Musician of the Year 2002 violinist
Jennifer Pike, outstanding young
mezzo soprano from York, Claire Bradshaw, the leading guitarist of
his generation, Craig Ogden, the magnificent Coull
Quartet and the highly acclaimed Haffner
Ensemble. The Cropper Welsh Roscoe Trio will also make a welcome return.
Education
programme continues to develop
Many talented
young musicians from the East Riding are already working together to take
part in this year’s Chamber Music Challenge. This scheme encourages these
young people to develop their chamber music skills and provides them with
the opportunity to work with our visiting professional musicians in a
programme of master classes and workshops.
This year
these classes will take place in the Hexagon Music Centre – East Riding
of Yorkshire’s Schools Music Service’s new home.
